Fair chore split calculator

For couples, families, and flatmates. Everyone enters their available time, energy, and the tasks they hate. The calculator does the maths — you do the conversation.

Fill in each person below, then generate your split.

How the split works

The calculator weights each person's share by available hours and energy level. Tasks marked as hated are redistributed to others where possible.

⏱️ Time-weighted
Someone working 60 hours a week gets a smaller share than someone with 20 free hours. Obvious — but often invisible until you write it down.
🔋 Energy-adjusted
Low energy means fewer heavy tasks. High energy means you can handle more without it being unfair.
😤 Preference-aware
Hated tasks get reassigned if someone else doesn't mind them. Where everyone hates a task, it's flagged — not ignored.

A split is a starting point

The calculator gives you a number — the conversation gives you a system. Use the output to open the discussion, not close it.

What if we disagree with the split?
Adjust the inputs — change hours or energy levels — and regenerate. The goal isn't perfect accuracy, it's visible fairness that both people can see and negotiate from.
Does it save our data?
Nothing is stored. The tool runs entirely in your browser. Refresh the page and it resets.
Can we add more than 2 people?
Yes — you can add up to 4 people. Useful for flatshares, large families, or households with older children contributing.

Want the split to run itself?

Dopami builds chore rotation into your daily routine — missions assigned by room, energy, and who's available. No spreadsheet required.
